About Us

Hi, I'm Michelle, founder of Storm & Rose.

After a long career in homewares and interiors in London, I returned to Yorkshire in 2021 with a desire to create something rooted in community, creativity and a love of bringing people together.

Today, Storm & Rose is centered around our Café in Kirk Hammerton Village Hall and catering business, where we create delicious food for everything from everyday gatherings to special celebrations. Whether it's a beautifully prepared brunch, a catered event, or a homemade cake shared over coffee, I believe food has a wonderful way of connecting people and creating memorable moments.

As a farmer's daughter, I've always felt a strong connection to the countryside and the changing seasons. That love of nature led me to spend several years growing flowers and supplying local businesses. While flowers are now a smaller part of the business, they remain a passion of mine, and I still enjoy creating  floral arrangements  for events and hosting workshops that encourage others to discover the joy of a little "flower faffing",

For me, Storm & Rose is about more than food or flowers—it's about creating welcoming experiences, celebrating the beauty of the seasons, and bringing a touch of creativity to everyday life.
